The day I went kayaking down the bayou
It was a sunny day I was waiting for my dad and my girl scout troop because we were going to go kayaking down the bayou. Drumming my fingers impatiently on the kayak, I said,"Can we go kayaking now?" My dad looked at me exasperatedly and said,"Sure we can get started now."
We got the kayaks out of the truck bed then headed down to the water.I wanted to help, so I grabbed the edge of the kayak but it was HEAVY so I dropped it and let my dad carry it. Finally, we were off cruising along Buffalo Bayou letting the beauty of the amazing scenery blind us. Even though we had only been kayaking for like 2 minutes we already were seeing amazing scenery! We saw a lot of bugs and other animals that I didn't even know existed! We stopped for lunch, so I stretched out my muscles by running around, listened to a really funny story about the adventure of my friend's dad and a two-inch snake, ate lunch, then started kayaking again. When we started kayaking again, my feet were hot and sore so I draped my feet over the edge of our kayak letting my feet drag in the cool water and letting the water sooth my hot and aching feet.We kept kayaking, but then my partner and I got caught in a rip current while going under a bridge in result we smashed into a post.If there was one thing I saw a lot of, it was Silk worms I mean those things were everywhere man, draped on trees, in the water, everywhere! We actually saw this ancient playhouse it was like 100 years old! We also saw (and moved) pipes, trash, birds, trash climbed on rocks, trash, a fire extinguisher, and trash, trash, and more trash! I mean there was even a deflated football, and a bunch of bottles. Then we passed under a bridge infested with bats,MAN IT SMELLED REALLY BAD! Then we reached where we would end our kayaking trip. That's my story.
